Keep It Live

In 1982, the Dazz Band, a soul/funk group from Cleveland, released their third and best-selling album, “Keep it Live”. Formed in the late ’70s by Bobby Harris, merging two Cleveland funk bands, Bell Tele funk and Mother Braintree, the group aimed for a “danceable jazz” concept, abbreviated to “dazz”. Their mission was to produce a dance hit, which they achieved with “Let it Whip”, co-written by Reggie and Leon ‘Ndugu’ Chancler, marking their breakthrough success
