Joe Farrell’s last of six recordings for CTI features extended versions of four of his original compositions. In addition to his signature tenor, soprano, and flute, Farrell introduces the baritone saxophone on this album. Once again collaborating with guitarist Joe Beck, along with bassist Herb Bushler, drummer Jim Madison, and percussionist Ray Mantilla, the music remains melodic and occasionally funky. While not groundbreaking, Farrell’s CTI albums are all worth adding to one’s collection.
