Kashif, born Michael Jones, grew up in 8 foster homes as a child, with music being the only constant in his life. He discovered his passion for it when he received a flute at the age of seven. At just fifteen years old, Kashif began his career as a keyboardist and singer in the 70s disco/funk band B.T. Express, known for the hit ‘Do It ‘Till You’re Satisfied’. After a few years, he decided to leave the group and became one of the most prominent producers to incorporate synthesizers into R&B.
